Brief

Our agency was required to provide all event management, technical and logistical support to the Mass Discounters for the annual Merchandise Conference.

Solution

The annual Merchandise Conference was held at Champagne Sports Resort in the Kwazulu Natal Drakensberg.  Delegates attended from all provinces in the country and included all management from both Head Office and Stores.  The primary objective of the conference was for Buyers to present Christmas products and expected in-store promotions.  These presentations were supplemented by Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and Operations keynotes for the new year.  The agency created media clips for the CEO & Merchandise Directors and assisted all other Directors with presentation content.

The Conference included a plenary where all delegates could enjoy keynote presentations and motivational speakers, a Gala Dinner, cocktail social function and the main exhibition of products.

The event included 3 days of conferencing and focused on the business through the use of visual presentations, live product demos and motivational speakers.

The agency used our OB (outside broadcast) unit with 3 cameras to vision mix and capture the event and IMAG (Image Magnification) to ensure all delegates see a close up screen view of the presenters, MC and speakers.  All content was digitally recorded to SSD (Solid State Drives) and edited post event.  Our use of robotic, PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) cameras ensured we kept our out of town accommodation and per diems to a minimum and we therefore only required one cameraman.

Feedback from the 400+ delegates was extremely positive and all who attended fully enjoyed the mix of business and pleasure whilst getting to spend time sharing knowledge with store owners from other regions.
